Hi guys! I am an avid movie watcher %26amp; movie lover. I love reading %26amp; watching movies %26amp; interpreting stories and connecting with characters. I am involved in drama with my school and have been the Humorous Interpretation representative for literary competition for the past 2 years. I can quote pretty much every movie (especially Disney) that I've seen since I was 3 years old, can mimic easily, learn lines, and can do a variety of voices (including: British, Australian, French, Italian, Inigo Montoya from The Princess Bride, Vector from Despicable Me, the carnival guy from Despicable Me, the dodo birds from Ice Age, the minions from Despicable Me, the priest with the lisp in The Princess Bride, Darth Vader, Harry Potter (haha), the vikings from How to Train Your Dragon, etc). I love everything about acting and movies %26amp; I would love to be a voice actor. Here are my questions:
1) do you have to be famous to become a voice actor?
2) how do you become a voice actor?
3) what qualifications are needed %26amp; where would I need to live?
4) how do you get discovered?
5) do you think I have what it takes to be a voice actor %26amp; would I be a good one?
I know this is a lot of info %26amp; a lot of questions, but I'm graduating high school in a little over a year and I just really need to know if this is worth pursuing. I really want to, but I need to know if it's practical (like could I support myself %26amp; my family) and etc. Thanks!Could I be a voice actor?
First thing you need is a talent agent, who will probably have yo submit some recording to him/her for consideration. No, you don't have to be famous, but these days voiceover work seems to get given to people with recognizable voices (Morgan Freeman snaps to mind immediately) so consumers identify the product with the voice of someone they feel they can trust (don't ask me why!). Ad of course you've seen who gets cast for big-budget films as voice actors for animated movies, right? Anyone whose name you DON'T Recognize? I didn't think so! That's not to say you can't get commercial or TV work, but you do need an agent for this as much as for any other professional acting work. So get yourself a copy of Variety, the most well-known and oldest trade publication. They will list agents and occasionally open auditions. It would be advisable to join both SAG (Screen Actors Guild) and Actors Equity for the cache those memberships would give you. Even if you're just looking to do voice-over work, get yourself some professional head shots and do up your stats and a resume with any credits you may have. That way you have something to submit to a talent agent. Because these kinds of jobs are as contractual as any acting job, you do NEED an agent, if for no other reason than to have someone with "ins" to the right people and places. The days of getting "discovered" haven't been around since Lana Turner got discovered at Schwab's...it just doesn't work that way anymore. You don't need to live anyplace in particular, though you would most surly have to travel to whatever jobs you might get. You would be best centered in a part of the country that does this type of casting, meaning East or West Coast, if you nwat to make yourself available readily, though. There are no qualifications for being a voice actor, other than the copious voice talents you say you already have. Maybe you've seen that story on TV about the homeless man Ted Williams who had this amazing speaking voice, got recorded by a local TV affiliate who aired his story, and now has more work than he can handle, including sports stadium announcing and Stouffer's TV commercials. See? It CAN happen. But I don't recommend doing it that way and making yourself homeless and going out on some street somewhere.
I hope this is helpful. I was raised in L.A. where it seemed everyone was an actor or connected in some way to the entertainment industry, but it's funny how most of them seemed to be waiting tables or working as cashiers! So I don't want to make this sound easy. It will take some personal and financial investment on your part. But the main thing is you have to want it and be willing to work for it and COMMIT! Seriously! Some of the so-called "actors" I knew in L.A. just didn't have the push in them to do anything more than TALK about it. Forget it if that's all you're willing to invest, and I'll bet from the sound of this it's not. So do your due diligence and make it work for you, kiddo!

and the girl i like to have black hair, tough, and really cool!
i like the art with the characters skinny, and have pretty eyes.
i like the guy to smile alot, strong, and a good fighter , someone like a flirt, and narcissistic.

One night, Kazuki Muto jumps in to try to save what he thinks is a girl in distress from a monster and instead gets impaled through the heart. The girl, Tokiko, is actually an alchemic warrior with a Busou Renkin, name of Valkerie Skirt, with the mission to exterminate Homunculi. She implants the only other successful work of alchemy than the Homunculus, the Kakugane, to take the place of Kazuki's heart. The Kakugane resonates with his fighting spirit and forms a Busou Renkin (in his case a spear) so he can fight the Homunculus monsters who prey on humans. Kazuki joins with Tokiko to battle with the Homunculi and protect his friends and his sister Mahiro.
Naruto Shippuden is MUCH better than naruto!

Summary
Miaka Yuuki, an average middle school student caught up in studying for exams, is sucked into an ancient Chinese novel titled "The Universe of Four Gods". There she discovers that she is in an ancient country in what is now China, Konan, and is to be the Priestess of one of the four gods, Suzaku. As the priestess, her duty is to gather the Seven Seishi of Suzaku, who are to be her protectors. Once they are gathered, the priestess will summon the god Suzaku and bring peace between the warring lands, Konan and Kutou. But it's harder than it seems. Along the road, many hardships are faced, as Miaka's best friend Yui Hongo enters the book and becomes her rival, the priestess of Seiryuu in the land of Kutou. Who summons their god first is up to the courage and skill of the priestesses and their seishi, as they meet triumphs and tragedies along the way

Summary

one that i really recommend is Skip Beat. its really funny and has romance. Its about a girl who wants to take revenge on her ex boyfriend by getting into the acting business.A more in depth description would be:
Kyoko followed her true love and childhood friend Sho to Tokyo so she could help him reach his dream of becoming an idol. She cleans, cooks, works three jobs and does nothing for herself because she loves him so much, but gets nothing in return. Still, she remains by his side. But then one day she goes unannounced to his agency with a delivery, and overhears him talking about her; he reveals to his manager that he only took her with him as a maid, and that he doesn't care for her at all. Upon hearing this, Kyoko doesn't just sit around and cry. She cuts and dyes her hair, changes her clothes and attitude and thus begins her journey to join showbiz and have her revenge against Sho.

Im looking for good dubbed action/adventure/supernatural/fantasy/鈥?anime when the main character/characters get stronger and one of them is some soft of hero/chosen one e.g. Flame of Recca or Rave Master or maybe a descendant of someone powerful or reincarnation or a guy that is the only one that can control a mecha or someone that goes to another planet and saves the world or something like that... and I dont like anime when there is lots of blood and killing e.g. Elfen Lied or Gantz and I didnt like Berserk that much.

Im looking for good dubbed action/adventure/supernatural/fantasy/鈥?anime when the main character/characters get stronger and one of them is some soft of hero/chosen one e.g. Flame of Recca or Rave Master or maybe a descendant of someone powerful or reincarnation or a guy that is the only one that can control a mecha or someone that goes to another planet and saves the world or something like that... and I dont like anime when there is lots of blood and killing e.g. Elfen Lied.

I'm gonna send this letter to CartoonNetwork cuz I'm pissed that they canceled Toonami. What do you think?
Dear CartoonNetwork Executives,
I've watched Toonami since it's first run, and I can't begin to tell you how disappointed in your choice to cancel it.
CartoonNetwork is a sinking channel. If your ratings are going down and you have no idea why, let me try and explain it to you to the best of my ability:
1) Your schedule is crap. I remember days when you've played Scooby Doo for three hours straight, then go off again to something equally mind numbing such as (shudders) Camp Lazlo.
2) Your shows, no matter how different the characters, the stories and the powers or settings in them, are all the same. They all talk about friend ship, morals and learning lessons from mistakes. Granted, thats good, but still. There are only so many times and so many ways I can watch the same plot unfold. "Somebody says something, someone gets angry, there's bickering, then after something random, all is well again." Seriously, every network in existence that aims for kids have been running the same plot for 50 years. Think. Of. Something. New.
If you're wondering why your losing to Nickelodeon and Disney, its NOT because they have those live action original shows like That's So Raven or The Ben's Brothers or whatever they're called. I don't watch them, because I was watching the anime on your channel. Either through the t.v. or Jetstreem.
Its like you don't even realize that you have a serious advantage over all other networks. You are the ONLY CHANNEL that shows anime. The ONLY ONE. If you take that away and start coming out with more "Kid Friendly" shows like Chowder and Fosters, you are going to sink. Either way.
Let me give you a little insight on anime:
Lesson 1: All anime is an animated version of the original manga. Manga is a comic that is serialized in hugely (and when I say hugely, I mean one out of four people in the entire country buy manga when it comes out) popular magazines such as Shonen Jump (Where Naruto, YuYu Hakusho and Dragon Ball/Z run in every week)
Lesson 2: There are hundreds of websites that are in existence for the sole pupous of translating these manga when they're released in japan into English, and take the Japanese anime and have fans subtitle them for us all to watch.
People wouldn't be doing this if it weren't for the immense popularity of the series' in question.
Naruto, Bleach and One Piece are "The Big Three", that is, the three most popular manga and anime in America right now.
Now, you might ask; "Well if its so popular, then why are there periods that we get next to no ratings for?" And that takes us to Lesson 2: Fillers.
Fillers are the result of what happens when in Japan, the anime (that is in creation while the manga is still running) starts to catch up to the manga. So, the studio creates whole arcs of made up episodes that have nothing to do with the manga artist (the original creators) plot. A lot of people don't want to watch these and are perfectly content to just skip them. Naruto has one of the longest filler arcs out there. Episodes 135 - 220 alone were fillers.
During the time of the fillers, the fans will go to youtube or other video sites and watch the subtitled episodes, or just read the manga.
If this hasn't quite sunk in yet, and you're telling yourself "Well we're a big wig network that can afford to loose a few watchers"... Let me give you another lesson on Anime:
Lesson 4: Kids aren't the only ones who watch anime. My mother, grandmother, cousin, father, brother and sister are all very much over the age of 18, and only have cable in the first place to watch CartoonNetwork, News, Sports and Law %26amp; Order. My mom is completely addicted to anime, and says she's totally boycotting your channel.
My mom isn't the only one who's gonna do this. I don't watch tv, the only time i do is to watch Toonami and Adult Swim. That's it. The age group for anime isn't what you think it is, 8-16 year-old's, but more along the lines of 8-45 year-olds. You see, anime is anime not because its from Japan, but because it has PLOT. It has character development. It makes you think, and at the end, when all the morals are relieved, they sink in WAY better than Billy and Mandy. (Of which, the next episode the moral is completely forgotten again. Gee, i wonder what kind of example that sets?)
You want to keep the shows not only because it's your jobs on the line, but because the different art styles, the sheer imagination it takes to create whole new worlds, is inspiring on a whole new level to kids, and when they grow up, they'll want to get into animation and such. One day they'll want to come work for you, and you'll be in an even better position because you've got a mind much like the creators in japan, who come out with those ridiculously popular series'.
I can promise you this: If you don't knuckle down and get to work, you're goingToonami Cancellation Response?
they're still showing Naruto (Naruto is a crappy "power level" anime though...) at least, just not with the "Toonami" name
I'm glad this new Toonami is dead, it's a bastardization of the old version with Moltar or Tom 1
they used to broadcast ~3:00 PM; right when school ended with DBZ and good old stuff, but they gave up that timeslot and it's been downhill since then
Sci Fi channel has Ani-Mondays, anime on monday nights with Gurren Lagann
also Chowder and Flapjack are good shows; don't insult them because it isn't your preference

Well first of all i think its good. But these people are sophisticated ADULTS! You must write it like a Persuasive letter. Such as this:
Dear Cartoon Network Executors,
It has come to my attention that Toonami has been canceled. But with the decision you have made I cannot agree with this. I can understand that Toonami did not have many ratings. But that is not a good reason. The only reasons that they had low viewers were because of filler episodes of naruto. Also with Toonami gone the cartoons are just meaningless to watch. You are the ONLY channel with anime. That is what has kept you running for most of the years. Also, your schedual is not very well kept. I remember the days of when you used to run scoobydoo for 3 hours straight. But then it changed and got all childish. Toonami was great. Another reason is because every Saturday we get an hour of Naruto. Thats it. We want more than that.
At the end you have to say what you want DEMANDINGLY too.
write it kinda like that. You have to show that you respect them. But you also have to show a bit of authority and self control. You have to include facts, numbers, stories of the past (flashbacks), creative detailed sentences. Also you should check your spelling. Here you are acting all highly classy trying to persuade them but then they see a mistake and think you are kind of stupid. Thats what my teacher said. Remember this. This is exactly how I got cheerleading back at my school.
Sorry for being such a critisizing person but you have to do it this way........ or else they will ignore you.
Also do not act like a child and insult the shows because it is not your doing. If you do they will have no respect for you or the letter. Also..... watch the sentences.

Yeah, u should send it, I don't think it will make a difference, but u should do it. Maybe they'll put more anime aside from Adult Swim.

CANCELED!!!? SINCE WHEN? That sucks so much, toonami was really good in the 90's and early 2000'sToonami Cancellation Response?
Well first of all i think its good. But these people are sophisticated ADULTS! You must write it like a Persuasive letter. Such as this:
Dear Cartoon Network Executors,
It has come to my attention that Toonami has been canceled. But with the decision you have made I cannot agree with this. I can understand that Toonami did not have many ratings. But that is not a good reason. The only reasons that they had low viewers were because of filler episodes of naruto. Also with Toonami gone the cartoons are just meaningless to watch. You are the ONLY channel with anime. That is what has kept you running for most of the years. Also, your schedual is not very well kept. I remember the days of when you used to run scoobydoo for 3 hours straight. But then it changed and got all childish. Toonami was great. Another reason is because every Saturday we get an hour of Naruto. Thats it. We want more than that.
At the end you have to say what you want DEMANDINGLY too.
write it kinda like that. You have to show that you respect them. But you also have to show a bit of authority and self control. You have to include facts, numbers, stories of the past (flashbacks), creative detailed sentences. Also you should check your spelling. Here you are acting all highly classy trying to persuade them but then they see a mistake and think you are kind of stupid. Thats what my teacher said. Remember this. This is exactly how I got cheerleading back at my school.
Sorry for being such a critisizing person but you have to do it this way........ or else they will ignore you.
Also do not act like a child and insult the shows because it is not your doing. If you do they will have no respect for you or the letter. Also..... watch the sentences.

Yeah, u should send it, I don't think it will make a difference, but u should do it. Maybe they'll put more anime aside from Adult Swim.

it doesn't really matter that much to me-if they say it's really bad then i probably wouldn't buy it and i normal don't base which books i buy on how the critics view it.
