Go into the setting for your video card (the ati control panel) and force the refresh rate down to 60 Hz likely the issue is your monitor does not support refresh rates above that at the resolution the game is trying to run at. This is a common issue where most monitors will run 75 Hz at lower resolutions but at max resolution will only run 50 or 60 Hz so they can claim better specs on their data sheets.

"Frequency out of range" on Starcraft 2?
i just bought Starcraft 2 and i think i have a fairly decent pc. Gateway FX 6800 series with i7 920 quad core 2.6ghz, 3gb RAM, and an ATI raedon HD4850 card. But whenever i start the game i get a black screen with the message "Frequency out of range". I understand there is a problem with a refresh limit on my monitor but it only happens when i try to open starcraft 2. Ive tried to repair starcraft, reinstall, and override my refresh rate which didnt help a bit since im alrdy at 75hz. Does any1 kno a way to overide this problem? i would ask on starcrafts forum but the stupid forum requires i have an ingame character but i cant even access the game.( This problem doesnt happen on WoW, RoN, Aion, Sims3, and Dragon Age. only starcraft 2)"Frequency out of range" on Starcraft 2?
