Should I buy Mass Effect 2?

I've been looking at the trailers and videos of Mass Effect 2 and all I can say is "IT LOOKS SO SICK!!" Now one thing I am really hesitant about is if it's gonna be like Dragon Age: Origins which was also developed by BioWare. At first I thought Dragon Age was going to be cool and I was going to like it, but when I played it, I was so disappointed and that I wasted 60 bucks. Now im just wondering, is Mass Effect 2 basically LIKE Dragon Age, like the gameplay and such but just in a more science fiction genre? Looking at videos of the gameplay, both the games are different being M.E. being a shooter and like looking more at a single character view than D.A. Can someone help me out before I waste another $60?Should I buy Mass Effect 2?
They are 2 completely different games. DA is a throwback to the old PC RPGs bioware used to make. Mass Effect is a much faster-paced action RPG. It's new shooting mechanics can hold its own against other shooters, not just RPGs. Great custimation, interactive cut scenes, fast paced action, this game will have it all. It makes the line between movie and video game ultra gray. The best thing though is the emotional attachment you will have to this game and your squadmates. In ME1, there was this decision where you had to kill a squadmate. After doing this, I really felt hurt and sad for days, even while not playing. Not many games can say this.

Definatley get ME2, will be Game of the Year 2010. And watch the launch trailer if you haven't seen it. Might be the best trailer I have ever seen in my life.Should I buy Mass Effect 2?
If you play Mass Effect 2 as the Soldier class, it will pay a lot more like other recent action-shooter games. So the game is quite different from other RPG's like Dragon Age in that manner. I'll include a link to a page that has gameplay of the Soldier class, so you can see for yourself what I mean.Should I buy Mass Effect 2?
I agree with you on Dragon age....sigh. I feel I wasted my $ too, the whole "point and click" thing along with pausing to set up your other characters was way too tedious for me.

But...

M.E. is nothing like that. It's fps/3rd person if I'm not mistaken(watched my brother play)so get M.E.1 used first to see if you like it. I bet you will:-)

Also, it's part of a trilogy and if you have the first, you can transfer your last save to dictate the ending outcome of the second. Same goes for the 3rd.

I recommend you getting it. Def NOT like D.A.
